Processing

Processing Electronically Stored Information (ESI) often means different things to different companies. eLit makes it a goal to de-jargaonize technical speak by using well-defined and comprehensible explanations during every step of the Discovery process.

eLit defines Processing as the transforming of ESI into a reviewable form where data is indexed, text is extracted, metadata is collected, embedded files and attachments are separated, data is Deduped (or near dupe identified) and DeNisted, and custodians are recognized.

Filtering or keyword searching can also be accomplished during the Processing stage (as well as Review) to remove unwanted files and documents helping reduce Review costs.

Once Processing is complete, data can be loaded into a client's preferred database for Review . It can also be imaged (converted to TIF, PDF, JPG, etc) allowing bates stamping and designations to be placed in preparation for productions.

All ESI is different, therefore requiring different project specifications, instructions, and tools. eLit incorporates a variety of eDiscovery appliances to customize its solutions, always using the latest and greatest technology as it becomes available.
